LMAO!!
So I went and checked out the LVMH website (I was curious) and I honestly had no idea that they were such a big company!! Am I the only one that didnt know they own a crap load of upscale brands??
Moet, Dom, Krug, Belvedere, Hennessey, Chopin are only some of the wine and spirit brands.
Then theres LV, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, DKNY, Dior, Tag Hauer, De Beers, Zenith, Sephora.... just to name a few. Theres plenty more.
Could you imagine upcoming Aston Martin Special Editions with LV luggage, Champagne glasses with Dom, and his and her Tag Gauer watches?? Seems like a perfect match for Aston Martin. They are definitely in good company.
Plus Ford still keeps 15% of the brand. There future doesnt look to bad after all.

Pole Position
The only way AM is going to survive is if they integrate into fashion and accessories industry. From suits, wallets, fragrances, some techno gadgetry and even living like premium condominiums or resorts. All those would be more profitable than making cars.
I think that AM is the only automaker that has substance and suave to pull all those things above. Men want to be like James Bond and women want to be like Bond's girls. Aura that AM has is something that Ferrari and Bentley just can't match.
I think LVMH knows that Aston Martin is the ultimate luxury accessory and hopefully they will expand it further than just cars.

AM is a great brand to me...just needs to get some ends taken care of. hopefully LVMH can accomplish that. i think it was the Vanquish that they said "there was not any one angle that the vehicle didnt look amazing"
but then again this could go a "ghetto" root and have an LV wrapped interior like some old school chevy's on 24's down here in miami!!!
i just hope this brand lives on and its prestige and doesnt get shoved into the ground even more.

ROFL
Anyway, as long as LV supplies the funding, I dont think AM will have any problems problems continuing to produce great/beautiful cars...people seem to forget that they were once an independant company. Ford (though some wont admit) brought them into the 21st century, and Im sure they will continue to do fine. They retained a 15% stake, so chances are they will ocntinue to supply their motors.
AM will be just fine.....though LV will probably make it into an 'accesory' like everything else they own. Fine with me as long as they keep building great cars.

I like the idea.
As Aston is a lifestyle type of brand, let's see if these folks can make it work.
I am sure they are really good at design, manufacturing, outsourcing distribution, retail shops and quality control.
The gap to me would be in service so they can hire some process experts to get that right.
The only downside off the top is the Alfred Dunhill smoking packages may be out as they do not own the brand (I don't smoke but liked the silver ashtray detail).
They can have Thomas Pink shirts embroidered with the Aston Martin logo for the sales staff.
And the matching luggage will be improved for sure.

I'm sure Ford didn't want to sell but they have to raise cash, and fast.
