Found this while searching the web its pretty funny and talks about the GS performance figures.

Actually Mr. Lexus has been doing it since the beginning, its just that occasionally throughout the years he's not been available or they decided to do a different kind of ad.
This ad was made during Lexus' "dark years" period and was pretty emblematic, IMO, of the directionless spirit that the brand had in its advertising. Fortunately things have changed!!!
Contrast with the ads which launched the 3 GS:

I can't see how that commercial ever aired. I sure never saw it. Wouldn't been a mistake for sure.
As for James Sloyan, it kinda stinks that he's around 65. That means he won't be able to do it for decades to come. Maybe another 10 if he wants to.
I just can't imagine anyone better doing it. He has the perfect and unmistakable voice for the Lexus brand.
