Although I am a huge 911 fan I would say I prefer the NSX the most if you are considering a base 996 911 or a NSX. The base 996 911 just does not really have head turning exotic looks like the NSX. Everytime I am with people they never take much notice of 911s and are shocked when I tell the ones who don't know how expensive they are because they don't think it looks like a $70,000+ sports car. The response to a NSX is always different where people seem to be in awe and can't take their eyes off of it and think it costs well over 100K. Modified 911 with tastefull body kits do look very good though and turn heads but it is extremely expensive to modify 911's. I still would be very happy to own even a base 996 and I would know how special it is even if many don't. I considered one but just did not fall in love with it that much to spend that kind of money that used ones were going for. I would spend the money on a NSX because just the looks of it are worth it not including the near perfect handling/performance, and very good reliability but I needed a much roomier car since I would be packing it up and taking long trips. Either car is great but there is just something about the beautiful exotic looks of the NSX that puts it above the 911 to me.

Well said!

The 911 only to the enthusiast causes a head turn or observance. The NSX is truly an E X O T I C. And oh yeah... I believe Honda knows a little about Racing Heritage : http://racing.honda.com/

Awesome thread discussion

I've always wanted one since it came out. Price tag was $60k back then-expensivvvve

I went through this stage before, but it was NSX vs CL55 amg.

As mentioned, so cal is full of base 911. Now if that was turbo, maybe different story

IMO, the design is not as an "exotic sports car" as the NSX.

Like what UDEL said, a nice body kit and some nice wheels on the NSX

One word NSX. Ask anyone that has sold their NSX for another car.

That is me. My brother will be picking my NSX up in a few days and I really miss that car even though it is still sitting in my garage. As I mentioned in my post earlier, this deal with my brother was made last year so I had over a year to think about and search for a replacement, but I can't find any unless you spend a lot more money and go the Ferrari/Lamborghini route which is just in a whole different league.

I hope you're kidding about the 959 Porsche ,that car is a collector and probably about 10 times as much as the 911 or the NSX that is if you can find one for sale ( highly doubtful ).

Forget both the NSX and the 996, get one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csyFv2dXJRg
