Soul simply translates to interactive performance which creates "fun." What creates fun? Sharp cornering abilities. Sounds from the exhaust and engine. Feeling the road through the steering. The Asian cars often blanket these things. The German cars don't hold back as much. Going from an A4 to an IS I see the truth to this first hand. Not that it's a bad trade off per se. Some people don't want to work as hard to feel their fun. They want to be taken care of and isolated on the way to work. Lexus sells the majority of their cars to these people. CL is the other small percentage of the pie.
