Is there any way I can check by looking at the vehicle (SR5 and Pathfinder) to find out where was it built? Or what should I ask for from the dealers to get the information?

Most vehicles, by law, have the assembly plant and date of manufacture either printed on the window sticker or on a metal plate underhood, on the driver's door jamb, or in the glove compartment. You should find it in one of those places.

Simple. If the VIN begins with a 1, it was made in the USA. If it begins with J, it was made in Japan. Then there are other numbers and letters for other vehicles.

if ur looking at a 4runner i say test the sport or limited models. they come with the X-REAS sport suspension system. it handles like a dream, for a SUV. i have taken turns in a sport at some good speeds. and was not scared about it tipping over like mmarshall said.

I am definitely on the side of the 4runner. We love ours and would probably only trade it for the next gen landcruiser or lexus variants. If you want more info on the 4Runner you can check out T4R.org. It's a great SUV. A few things the 4Runner has that I think the family might also: RSE with wireless headphones, trash bag holder to keep a little neatness, center console flip out table, the electric rear window.
