Cristal champagne!
I think the CEO of Cristal said he didn't like it that rappers were singing about it, that they were ruining Cristal's image. So some rappers boycotted it ( like Jay-z it think )
But anyway, I loved those ads, they made me laugh and reminded me of my friends and I back in high school.

Yeah tons of guts thats why he has suddenly back peddled his statements after realizing they would not go unnoticed by a community who bought him tons of business and "free" advertisement for years. To hell with Cristal, Dom P and Korbel even taste better. Frederic Rouzaud wasn't alone in his sentiment just one of the few foolish/vocal enough to state it publicly.
As for the ads most were hilarious and I as a consumer and car fan appreciate the humor (tasteless or otherwise) in their campaigns. Very funny stuff.
