Those cars look better than this 1 series IMO. Bangle has to change the angles of this car for it to sell.
This is an interesting point.

Down here in Mexico, the 1 series is just not very popular. I see a lot of ads for it, but the pricing scheme leaves something to be desired so people end up getting a 3 series or a Mini. I have seen so many times in Mexico where they sell cars based on a theoretical pizzaz or wow factor. PT Cruiser was one that came to mind, but nobody bought it until the turbo version came out.

The A3 has always sold well here, both the old and new (the one in the U.S.) designs.

Will be interesting to see what it does in the U.S.

I think the 135i hatchback is a good alternative to the decision BMW USA makes not to import the 335i stationwagon.

I wish that I could say that I know someone who is anticipating this.

I wonder when Lexus is going to get into the compact segment... or sub-compact segment.

They should rebadge and redesign the Yaris or something

Let's hope not, Lexus does not need to get into the SUB-entry-level luxury segment, that's what the Toyota brand is for . . .

It will be called the "PS" as in 'afterthought'.

Mercedes did something similar that I was mentioning on another thread. Their A-series is exactly that and they don't make it anymore. But it really cheapened the brand. I can recall at a party (may sound a little arrogant), but everyone was asking what they drive, I said a Lexus (some people said what is that since none in Mexico), a few said BMW (3, 5 series) and some said Mercedes. Then they got to one guy and he proudly said I drive a Mercedes A190, and people said, "oh" and then looked away.

Mercedes still makes A-class and B-class, and they are quite successful in the Asia markets.
