That B&O sound system is the sole reason I visited the Audi website to learn more about the S8. It looked pretty nice, offered some neat features, and would have gotten me into a dealership for a test drive had it not priced out (with the options I wanted) at over $111K. That's just crazy for an Audi.

I love B&O stuff, fantastics sound. Great to see Audi doing this. When I was younger, I had a friend into sound who managed to rig up B&O system that had the best sound I ever heard to this day.

Just check out Burmester.
One thing why didnt Audi just go with some Deutsch Hi-Fi company? They probably could of gotten a cheap Burmester soundsystem, instead of a 1 kW version found in a Veyron, could of gotten a 200 - 350 watt version. Probably would of cost the same as the 1 kW B&O and sound way better.

I don't know. I've heard BOSE's Lifestyle 48 sound system. It sounds pretty damn good for those tiny speakers. Yet, my B&O headphones, while not as bass heavy as the BOSE home theatre system, can actually match (or dare I say beat) the clarity of it.

The S8 is unique because it's the most sporting large sedan you can buy--moreso than the S55. BMW doesn't even have a car that can compete with it.

You determine a car's worth by its badge. I suppose you'd be willing to fork over that $111k on a Lexus? Oh that's right, Lexus doesn't have a car that expensive.

After that staring at these pics, I've come to the conclusion that the steering wheel is ugly. The specs on that B & O are quite impressive though.

I guess I already know that an S55 is in that price range, so I know that if I want it, that's what I'll have to pay. Having never seriously looked at Audis before, my expectation of their pricing was far, FAR lower than the reality!
I fully admit that the problem may be with me and not with Audi, but I think if you took a poll across the nation and asked people to rank luxury car brands, Audi would come in last (out of those people who even remembered to include them on the list at all). Increased marketing may help with brand awareness, but increased pricing doesn't seem warranted at this point.
