Here is a 3 Series Coupe in action on the ring. The 330I sedan should handle the same. Try this in a Gs350

The Q is a interesting car, and sells at BIG discounts due to its unpopularity, but the downside is that it is almost worthless as a used car....good luck trying to resell one. Infiniti is yanking it from the American market because of low sales....back home in Japan it is known as the Nissan Cima.

Push-button starts are not just " showing off ". They are a nice convienence...except that they can destroy the starter motor if they malfunction and don't release it in time when the engine catches, as you would do with a key.

The S2000 I had used a start button, but the duration of the cranking wasn't controlled by the car like it is on the IS. It was completely user-controlled. The way it should be.

Lexus has its share of electrical and mechanical problems as well. Just take a look on this forum for reference. I believe the BMW elctrical problems are being over dramatized imo. You take care of a car, and it will take care of you I have no electrical problems to date on my X3. Only 847 miles on it so far.

I also thought push button start and keyless entry were gimmicks until I had a IS 250 loaner and had my hands full of stuff and I just opened the handle and pressed a button and left.
Its just convenient to me, damn key doesn't leave your pocket.
As for problems,Lexus has been the #1 brand for quality short AND long term, this is proven and now a world-wide understanding. For anyone to dispute is silly. No Lexus is not perfect but they have the LEAST amount of issues.
Sounds like the OP would love a Lexus GS right now!

I started a thread a couple months ago, the M45/Q45 are just bargain basement used car deals of the century. $20,000 for one of these cars? What a buy!

Damn, I never knew about the Q being discontinued thats like when acura d/c'ed the legend.
I don't think he should get a GS, everyone has them, and he wouldn't be different from the rest. The plus side is that if he has any problems, he can always go to the GS forum and get his problems solved. I can't name any other cars, I wouldn't go BMW at all. Oh well, seems like the GS is the way to go.
