When you're selling a million of these things per year and have a longer model cycle, there is no cost issue. It's negligible added cost when spread across such high volumes.

Not a chance.
I don't think you're understanding what the article was saying. Availability of raw materials was not the issue. The issue is that if you have a certain lead-time for a part, you can't redesign that part within its lead time before you start production without potentially delaying your product launch. If you have a 6 month lead time on a design and you want to redesign it at t-minus 3 months, you have a problem.

Either the truck is delayed or it isn't. If it is there's a reason, but I guarantee you it's not because of this. You don't just delay production in your billion dollar manufacturing plant while all of your workers are sitting idle because Toyota just decided that the timing wasn't right due to Christmas and holidays. Time a manufacturing plant spends sitting idle is a crap load of money you're flushing straight down the toilet. This is why GM closed so many plants.

Maybe it's delayed because it's too big to fit in their storage bays.

You can keep believing Motor Trend and the "word" that they have, but the Tundra is NOT delayed. For a long time now, Toyota was planning an early 2007 introduction, and there was a slight possibility that the Tundra was going to go on sale end of the year.

FYI, the San Antonio plant will start producting Tundras Nov. 17th, so nothing has been delayed. There is simply a gap between production start and sale time, mainly for marketing reasons.

How do I know all this? Because I have conversed with several involved with the new Tundra.

That new dash is a weak point in the new tundra design, however I have feeling the plastics and leather are higher grade than GMs.

word on the street is that spwolf knows everything, lol.

Just check press releases from long time ago on when will Tundra be released. In Feb 2006, Tundra interior was presented - same as today.

So, I dont know if you gonna trust "word" that is, or PR's that date back for more than year... lol.

I think that interior looks pretty good. It is very much typical Toyota interior, I could recognize it from anywhere.

And navigation looks nice.
