My Lancer Evolution, from stock to now..
As I posted previously before, I purchased a Lancer Evolution IX RS back in early august in hopes of recapturing some of my old SUpra-tinkering days. Well, after extensive tuning with my local shop here, w/ countless hours on the dyno messing with every aspect of the ECU almost possible, here are the results:
Stock: 211 whp / 232 wtq
Tuned: 337 whp / 345 wtq
Only mods on it are headers, downpipe, test pipe, intake and exhaust system. The rest of it was pure tuning! I must say, the EVO has been one of the most enjoyable platforms i have ever worked on, responding very well to mods and tuning! We actually have the car over 340whp now, but i havent got a chance to scan the dyno sheets yet.
Keep in mind the numbers again are from a Mustang AWD dyno (which typically reads lower than Dynojet numbers, but are more accurate due to the load introduced on the vehicle).

Nice-looking car, but can you stand the ride on it? I did a full review of a new Evo IX several months ago, and while the car was a blast to drive on winding roads, it was awfully stiff and noisy over bumps even with factory wheels and tires.....and I'm sure yours is even more aggressive.
The steering was also so quick and darty it was difficult to keep it going in a straight line, even with AWD.

i have lightened my car signifanctly to coincide with the power. it is around 3000lbs now even. with it being an RS model, devoid of creature comforts and noise isolation, and with the modified titaunium exhaust system, i wouldn't necessary say my car is hospitable for daily driving duties. however, with other relatively stock evos i have driven, i did not find any issues with the ride, which albeit is somewhat bumpy, isn't really that earth jarring. For those who plan on commuting with their Evo's, i have always directed them towards the MR model which has a much more comfortable ride with the upgraded Bilstein shocks and higher geared 6-speed. I have not found any straight line issues, and in fact wish the steering was even tighter!

Just an update...
Dug up this old post of mine, and thought I'd update it....
Car now has 400+whp (~500 crank hp), running a GT3076 aftermarket turbo. It ran a best of 11.9 before on the stock turbo, but no idea what it would do now.
Here's some pics of it now with carbon fibre goodies all around, and now weighs a mere 2920 lbs.:
(sorry for the large picture sizes)

400+WHP - WOW. Must be insanely fast, faster than a 911 turbo maybe!
