The main problem, though, that GM just WON'T acknowledge, is that dumping the big RWD cars....the REAL Impala / Caprice ( and its brothers the Buick Roadmaster and Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham ) in 1996 was a mistake. THAT is the platform they need to bring back, not try to make mid-sized FWD cars, even with V8's, imitate that role.
GM needs to admit that that was a mistake, even though we all know it was done to free up more factory space to build trucks and SUV's.

That is one good looking car i like it. The pic with the hood open looks like the last gen Audi A4. Now lower it add some black out trim and call it the impala and people will buy it.

The Impala SS, with the blacked-out sport-type trim you mention, is already on sale here in the U.S. Like its brother, the the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, it has a sideways-mounted FWD 303 HP V8.

Yes and no. It is the same basic platform....you can see that it even shares the Lucrerne's wheels and the row of 4 fender portholes But the Lucerne itself, as far as I know, is a little longer on the overhangs.

Those are Holden products........and are the first car on the Zeta platform.
You have a choice of Alloytech V6 (3.6L) or a L98/LS2 V8 (LS2 could also be found on C6 vettes).
You can also have a choice of 4speed auto which goes into the base model, the rest of the V6 range are 5 speed auto, and all V8's are 6 speed auto. You can also get a 6 speed manual.
The car has a 50:50 weight distribution.
Chassis is rated at 400kw (which is around 550hp?).
BMW was benchmarked in the handling department (hence the BMW side profile)
A sedan V8 version in Australia has already cracked 10.5 quarter with a twin turbo setup (everything else stock i.e. suspension, engine, computer etc). Look at www.LS1turbo.com.au
