ODELZHAUSEN, Germany — There's an egalitarian spirit at Bavarian tuning house Loder1899.
They've done everything from Ford Fiestas and Mazda 3s to Jaguar XJs. You've probably figured out that Loder1899 specializes in the extended Ford family, including brands from the European Premier Auto Group.
That's good news if you happen to own an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and would like to jazz it up a little. The tweaks are modest enough, but they add up to more visual impact and enhanced performance.
Take Loder's stainless-steel sport exhaust system, which permits the Vantage's 4.3-liter V8 to breathe easier. The result is a small but satisfying bump in output, from 385 to 405 horsepower. A Loder adjustable sport suspension system, rendered in lightweight, high-strength titanium, permits the driver to adjust vehicle height and strut compression for optimum handling.
The company makes its own carbon-fiber aero pieces, including a front lip spoiler, engine cover, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. It also offers custom wheels for the Aston in 20- and 21-inch sizes.
For more information, see the Loder1899 Web site.
What this means to you: The stock V8 Vantage is a looker. Loder's add-ons only enhance its appeal.
