Loves Snickerdoodles!
I prefer the styling of the S8 over the M5.
Here are a few pics so you can judge for yourself

I would get the S8 hands down. Better looking by miles and 8/10s the performance of the M5.

When it comes to Super sedans, the M5 sets the bar. Handeling, Acceleration horsepower goes to the M5. The Audi is very handsome car with gusto. Lambo Gallardo V10 will get you from point A to point B fast with class.. Very tough call as both cars are hot. The Audi has a timeless design compared to the M5. I would go with the Audi

Well.... S8 is nice! BUT, personally, I like BMW over Audi. Also, you cannot beat the driving experience of a BMW, even with an Audi. Secondly, the M5 looks a LOT better IMO. Everytime I see it, just gives me the goose-bumps and I get a chiver down the spine. I guess, what I am trying to say is that, while most car enthusiasts (All CL members) might be familiar with both cars, however, majority of others will know BMW M5 better. And, I think "common" people would go "Ooo Ahhh" over BMW than an Audi for first impressions. To me, this is very important, ofcourse, after the driving impressions you get from BMW. Finally, IMO the M5 just adds that "hardworking playboy" image into people's mind better.....

Depends on what he/she wants. If looking for a 4-door sports car the M5. If looking for a Luxury sedan with a cick in the pants than the S8.
Really that's not to say that the M5 does not have any luxury, but the S8 (I believe) is a full measure above the M5 in many luxury arears as well as haveing a much larger rear seat which puts it in the class of the 7-series BMW.
If BMW made a M7 (MMMMMMMMMM) that'd be a tough choice.
In fact I truly love both cars, but based on looks I am against the current gen 5-series and probably would never own one. Plus the fact that the M5 weighs 4000+ lbs if I truly wanted a sporty car I'd in all honestly rather have a 911S that weighs 700 lbs less. or if I didn't care about the weight I'd consider a CTS-V that costs half the price (can get a CST-V and a Boxster two cars for the price of the M5).
The S8 (IMO) is in a nice price/performance slot. It's as quick as a V12 7-series and W12 Audi A8 but costs (and weighs) a good deal less. In some ways you are paying less but getting more (performance). Now it's true the V12s in the MB have a bunch more power, but the Audi AWD S8 is (IMO) pleanty quick enough for a luxury car and more able to put the power down in the lower gears while the MB will probably be hampered by traction until it's already moving.
So for me, I'd pick the S8 over the M5 (based on my distaste if the M5 looks and SMG but now at least the M5 will offer a 6-MT). But spending $100K for one os not in my plans in the near future.

I posted this a while ago about the S8, it's worth a look ------->http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publi...cle_1827.shtml
IMO the S8 is a level above the M5 which shares common roots with the 525i ($43K) while the S8 builds on the A8 which is a more expensive starting point ($69K).

S8 hands down for me. So much better looking inside and out, and you can't beat a Lambo V10.
I don't really care if the M5 is faster and better handling, it's so dang ugly.
