I don't have the source anymore. I just remember reading back in 2004 when the Titan and F150 came out it went up against all the other trucks and the F150 won but the Titan was 2nd by like 1 point. The frame in the F150 and Titan was the strongest of them all, and the Titan had the best off-road and towing ability out of all the trucks back in 2004. Even though the F150 had a slightly higher tow capacity it did not tow as well.
I think it was some type of trailer magazine and one of the truck/car magazines that did the tests.
Don't forget the F150 video of them cutting the all thet trucks apart and showing weaknesses? They showed every trucks frame compared to the F150 EXCEPT the Titan and it was proven back then the Titan had a stronger frame over the f150 that is why they didn't show it.

We own an F-150 and it is indeed a tank and as rigid as any vehicle I've ever driven. And very quiet. And comfortable. And just all around great.
We looked at the Titan and the specs are great and the engine is awesome, but we couldn't get past the looks of it and some aspects that just came across as cheap. Plus the aftermarket support just wasn't there compared to Ford (no surprise).
Still, the Titan will get better and of course the new Tundra is a huge step forward.

I almost got a F150 over the Titan because I liked its looks as well. But Ford low balled me on my Infiniti I had 15k for a 2004 G35 loaded that wasn't a year old. They said this "they have no need for a car like this on their lot, it isn't a luxury dealership so they can't give me much". lol. And the other Ford dealers just didn't want to work a deal. I had a 04 Titan for a little over a year, but gas was a bit too much with driving 100 miles a day so I got rid of it.
