I read the article. It's about the new hybrid system in GM's full size SUV's.
It does mention towing briefly but that's not the main topic.

For most buyer's of these SUV's, towing will never be done. Most buyers
are 100LB women driving alone and talking on their cellphones.

im actually looking forward to seeing real world driving w/ these hybrids. My wife and I are seriously considering the hybrid Tahoe...if the gas mileage is better than our Odyssey right now ~17-19 MPG average. The kids will be bigger then, so the SUV might be better...although i really dont want to move away from the Odyssey or Sienna, i really like driving them

Hmm that may be true, but the GS450h still gets worse highway mileage than the GS350, which the GS450h is based on, perhaps due to its performance-oriented nature. Hopefully Toyota will apply the same technology to their fuel economy-focused models such as the Prius and the Camry Hybrid, etc.

True indeed. Ididnt forget about that. But there is a reason why they decreased the tow capacity. Everything else is the same (as far as we know) except for the addition of the all new 2mode Hybrid system.

Why else would someone buy a full-sized, truck-based SUV? Because it makes them feel like a "big man"?

majority of americas women are not this slim not a good generalization

25% mpg gain of a car that probably gets less than ~16 already, kinda eh
