Default DCX (Preliminary)

DaimlerChrysler AG Reports 5 Percent Increase in U.S. Sales for Passenger Vehicles for November 2006

NEW YORK, NY USA 09/28/2004

* Chrysler Group Reports Sales of 164,556 Vehicles, a 3 Percent Increase
for November 2006

* Mercedes-Benz USA Reports Sales of 22,079 Vehicles a 21 Percent Increase for November 2006

NEW YORK, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DaimlerChrysler AG (NYSE:
DCX), the third largest U.S. auto maker, today reported total group sales
of 186,635 passenger vehicles in the U.S. for November 2006, a 5 percent
increase compared to November 2005. All sales figures in this release are
on an unadjusted basis unless otherwise noted.

Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge
brands, posted sales of 164,556 vehicles in the U.S., an increase of 3
percent. Following global sales growth of 4.7 percent to 2.83 million units
in 2005, Chrysler Group launches 10 all-new vehicles in 2006, the most
aggressive product launch in company history, while introducing some of the
most fuel- efficient vehicles to date. Reinforcing its position as
America's favorite convertible company, the Chrysler Group is raising the
roof on the convertible segment by introducing the all-new 2008 Chrysler
Sebring Convertible. The vehicle offers what no other convertible has
offered before -- three automatically latching convertible top options in
vinyl, cloth or a body-color painted steel retractable hard top, all of
which can be retracted with a push of a button on the key fob. The Chrysler
Sebring Convertible achieves excellent fuel efficiency of 31 mpg and has
Flexible-fuel Vehicle (FFV) engine availability, making the 2008 Chrysler
Sebring Convertible a solid contender.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) reported its third highest sales month ever
with 22,079 vehicles sold in November, an increase of 21 percent over last
November. As a group, the Mercedes-Benz portfolio of luxury light trucks --
the M-, R-, G- and GL-Classes -- continued to demonstrate impressive gains
with a combined 57 percent increase over last November.

Detailed vehicle sales information for MBUSA and Chrysler Group will be
announced later today in separate press releases issued by the groups.

November 2006 and November 2006 both had 25 selling days.

Default Ford Motor Company Reports November U.S. Sales

* Ford's November U.S. sales totaled 182,259, down 10 percent compared with

* Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and Lincoln MKZ pace car sales increase to
retail customers.

* All-new Expedition (up 14 percent) and Navigator (up 65 percent) post
double-digit gains in November.

* Ford November inventories are 122,000 units lower than a year ago.

* Ford updates fourth quarter 2006 North American production plan and
announces first quarter 2007 plan.

DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ford Motor Company's
(NYSE: F) dealers delivered 182,259 vehicles to U.S. customers in November,
down 10 percent compared with a year ago.

November car sales were 3 percent lower than a year ago, reflecting
lower deliveries to fleet customers. Sales to individual retail customers
were up reflecting higher sales for the company's new mid-size sedans (Ford
Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln MKZ). Fusion was up 66 percent, Milan was
up 29 percent and MKZ was up 83 percent. These 2007 models feature standard
side-air bags and available all-wheel drive.

Overall, truck sales were down 13 percent, but the company's all-new,
full-size sport utility vehicles (Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator)
posted higher sales. Expedition sales were up 14 percent and Navigator
sales were up 65 percent.

U.S. Inventories Lower
At the end of November, Ford, Lincoln and Mercury inventories were
estimated at 631,000 units. This level is 122,000 units lower than a year
ago. The company estimates 85 percent of the inventory is new 2007 models.

North American Production
In the fourth quarter 2006, the company plans to produce 620,000
vehicles (240,000 cars and 380,000 trucks). This plan is 15,000 units lower
than the previously-announced plan reflecting the temporary suspension of
Freestar production at the Oakville Assembly Plant (Ontario, Canada).

In the first quarter 2007, the company plans to produce 750,000
vehicles (240,000 cars and 510,000 trucks). In the first quarter 2006, the
company produced 876,000 vehicles (316,000 cars and 560,000 trucks).
Earlier, the company indicated first half 2007 production would be 8-12
percent lower than the first half 2006. The first quarter 2007 plan is
consistent with the high end of this range.

Default Subaru November Sales Up 9%

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Subaru of America, Inc.
November sales jumped nine percent over the same period last year totaling
15,800 units for the month. The Subaru Legacy, Forester and Impreza all
posted double- digit gains. Subaru total sales are up two percent
year-to-date from the previous year.

Subaru sales were boosted in November when the Insurance Institute for
Highway Safety awarded the Subaru Legacy, Forester, and Tribeca Top Safety
Pick designations for their crash protection in front, side and rear
impacts tests.

"We saw an increase in both dealer and web traffic after the IIHS
announcement," said Tim Colbeck, Vice President, Sales, Subaru of America,
Inc. "Subaru received the most IIHS Top Safety Picks of any brand and
because safety is so important to our customers, the market responded
positively to this news."

The Subaru Legacy was up 19 percent posting 6,550 units in November,
with Subaru Outback posting 4,531 units of that model line total. Subaru
Forester posted 4,215 units, up 13 percent from the same period last year.
Subaru sold 1,202 units of the Tribeca mid-size SUV during the month of
November, while Baja posted 413 units. Subaru Impreza continues its banner
year recording 3,420 units, a 27 percent increase over the previous
November.

"The full lineup of All-Wheel Drive Subaru vehicles continues to be
recognized for their uncompromising safety, outstanding reliability and
exhilarating driving performance," said Colbeck. "Subaru is on track to set
its fourth consecutive all-time sales record this year."

Holy 3,613 LS430/LS460's!! Wonder how many are left-over LS430's but impressive nonetheless.

The GS seems to be losing to the M and the IS seems to have lost quite a bit to the new G35.

Most Toyota hybrids are doing very well though.

Audi's North American sales are horrible I must say. Apart from the A4, and Q7, the rest of their models have almost non-existent sales.

A6 sales down 50%? Ouch. Only 814 units sold? It makes the GS look like a star.

And the A8, down 14% to 362 units? Wow ... Ford sold almost as many Ford GTs as Audi sold A8s. No amount of comparisons and Car & Driver praise is going to help Audi in this case.

I am surprised that Chrysler sales are up, if only a little bit. Want to look at the detailed numbers.

Ford's sales really took a nosedive. The Ford Five Hundred dropped a huge amount as did the Ranger. And F series is down 16%. Last year they sold about 900,000 F-Series pickups. This year, they won't even make 800,000, so annual F Series compared with last year will be down by over 12%. No surprise of course, as GM's new pickups are already on sale, and the new Tundra is just around the corner. The F Series is clearly Ford's cash cow, so they will be losing a lot of profits here.

Nice to see Ford's cars doing decently though.

Toyota just continues to post incredible increases. 15.9% increase over last November! And it looks like they handily beat Ford this month in sales.

Tundra sales are holding strong, and apart from incentives, I think the Craftsman Truck Series Title win with a Tundra definitely is helping things along. This is pretty good considering a declining truck market.

IS seems to have dropped a bit due to the new G I'm guessing. LS sales are phenomenal right now, they sold more LS than IS models this month.

Camry is up solidly 15%. Toyota is on track to sell almost 450,000 Camrys this year. Also incredible how the Corolla continues to post sales increases. It's only 50,000 units shy of the Camry in terms of YTD sales.

GS is down again, but I think the overall market here is down. One thing is for sure, Lexus definitely needs the GS460 to come soon.

Default Mazda Sales Up 16.7 Percent in November

- CX-7 and MAZDA3 Lead the Way to Double-Digit Increase -

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Mazda North American Operations
(MNAO) today reported sales of 20,792 vehicles for November 2006, a 16.7
percent increase versus last year. Mazda also reported a 4.1 percent
year-to-date sales increase versus the same period last year, with 248,874
units sold through November.

"As fuel prices remain unstable, and we move into the winter season
with its associated higher heating costs, customers are choosing
fuel-efficient new vehicles that fit a broad spectrum of lifestyles," said
Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations.
"November was a tremendous month for Mazda and we look forward to
continuing our strong sales momentum through December."

Mazda's all-new CX-7 crossover sport-utility vehicle (SUV) continues
its strong sales surge with 3,654 units sold. With a starting MSRP of
$23,750, CX-7 features a turbo-charged 2.3-liter four-cylinder
direct-injection gasoline engine that produces 244-horsepower, yet still
delivers an estimated 23 mpg in combined city and highway driving.

The innovative MAZDA5 multi-activity vehicle also finished the month
with solid sales of 1,513, more than double its sales performance the
previous year, and triple its sales performance on a year-to-date basis.
The wildly popular MAZDA3 once again proved to be Mazda's volume-leader,
with sales of 6,673 units despite a continued lack of inventory.

Default Lexus Japan sales up 43%

"Toyota, the world's second-largest automaker, expects to sell 12,000 Corollas a month in Japan, it said on Oct. 10. The automaker sells two versions of the Corolla in Japan, a sedan called the Corolla Axio and a station wagon called the Corolla Fielder.

The company also released the Lexus LS sedan on Sept. 19, which helped sales of the brand surge 43 percent to 5,063 vehicles in November. Toyota also started selling the Auris hatchback in October, and it plans to release the Blade hatchback in Japan later this month."

------------------------------------------------------

Wow, so big part of the Lexus sales increase is thanks to the new LS. At this rate, they are catching up to the German brands in their home market quickly. The LS600h arrives in a few months, and that will definitely take a lot of conquest buyers. The GS450h in Japan, according to figures I've seen, has a conquest rate of about 30 - 40%, much higher than the regular GS. The conquest rates in North America for the GS450h are also quite high. Hybrids are becoming a unique thing for Lexus. The Lexus supercar, and new SC will be a big image boost for Lexus in Japan.

Seems as though the new models at Chrysler helped the increase. Ram sales up likely means increased incentives. Chrysler by far is spending the most on incentives out of any automaker, an average of over $4,000 per car. Wrangler sales jumping so high seems odd.

Chrysler though has a huge inventory problem. About 500,000 units are in their inventory, which amounts to a huge 76 day supply.
