lol, i have been reading this thread but haven't posted recently. just for the kick, this is what i think

the LS blows away the corolla in almost all areas, but in some areas, however, the corolla is much better.

i mean, for corolla
1) it has much better gas mileage
2) it's smaller so it's much easier to park in most situations
3) it's a lot cheaper, even fully loaded
4) much cheaper insurance too i bet
5) you can use 87 all day long
6) tires are cheaper in general

but what's the point? the two cars are not in the same league / class / category. i am not against anyone (so marshall don't feel bad), but that's just how i feel. almost like asking which is a better car, a ferrari or bentley

in any case, this is ls460 thread after all, let's just get back on the LS

LOL. The Corolla blows away the Yugo most of the time, but in some ways the Yugo is a better car. It's cheaper, gets better mileage, and the factory can't screw you any more because the Serbs blew the ****** out of it 10 years ago

( Sorry, Henry......just had to get that one in )

The factory don't need to blow it up since it blows up on its own from the slightest rear-ender accident

Woops, I take that back. It was the pinto

Looking back at this model and design. Wow, as time goes by, the design just seems to age so much better. Not really talking about the 2013 design, but the original 2007 LS was just a work of art IOO. In the past I thought the design was boring etc but looking back the design is just so appealing. The model we saw was a LS600h, sadly all four tires were flat, and it was in rough shape as you could see some sort of major repair in the rear seat area, as well in the steering area inside.

Anyone look back at the 07 design with a more favorable opinion as time has gone by?

I've always liked the original 4LS released back in mid-2006.
The shape is so simple, clean and timeless.

I always thought the original LS460 looked pretty good, but the past few years I really started liking it more and more, so much that I tried to get one for about a year but just could not find the right one for me or one that did not have a bunch of issues so I ended up getting something else. On Wednesday I saw a black pre 2013 LS460 and a black 2013+ on the road next to me and the pre 2013 just looked so much better to me then the 2013+, saw a white one yesterday and it looked nice. The design has aged pretty well in my opinion, I still have a desire to get one.

My neighbor has an early reg wheelbase ls460 in silver. Looks great and has been kept in immaculate condition.

I've always thought it was a great looking car, still looks great and fresh and modern.

I really like my 17 model too

My 2010 white 460L with 5 spoke wheels was gorgeous. Too bad it was a nightmare to own. Still think it is beautiful, but that ticking from the direct injection that can be heard in the cabin is unacceptable. It thought it was just my car, but I've heard it on several others since I traded back to a 430. Some are louder than others, but mine was especially loud. Wasn't there on the test drive either, because I was aware of it and I listened for it. Noticed it a few months after purchasing, and it got progressively worse. Nobody could explain it.

Its really hit or miss, and you get used to it. My 2015 ticked, and my 2017 doesn't.

I agree. I've heard others that were silent. Don't understand why Lexus couldn't get that resolved. At speed with music on, it was fine, but I listen to a lot of sport talk radio and it was very annoying, especially in town. Almost a constant ticking that was very audible. Never got used to it.
