Flame me all you want, they clearly have run out of ideas. All their cars and coupes are too similar. This looks way to much like an Infiniti as do the refreshed Maxima and the new Altima. Just is going to confuse the customer.
It certainly will help Nissan sell but reading the forums, many owners are not happy.

Man..... After looking at the pics of the Nissan / Infiniti's I was confused as to what car was what.....
Hey NISSAN.... !!! Wake up....!!! Your cars look tooooo similiar...!!!
That being said... I still like this Altima coupe. That is until last night..
Feel like showing my wife the car chat forum and pull up some car pics. The wifey told me that the Nissan Altima coupe is very nice.....
This is a problem since she says the G35 is tooo aggressive
I LUV the g35 especially the concept/08 model.... If the wife thinks the Altima coupe is nice but the G35 is questionable then Daddy better not by the Altima coupe for himself.... too girly..lol
Mike.... I will NOT be buying an Altima coupe unless for my wife. Daddy will have to go with the G35 or another coupe...

They do look similar, but so does most other manufactures. Chevy Trucks to GMC trucks. Toyota Camry to the ES350, GS and so on. Honda Accord vs TL or RL. Ford vs Lincoln, etc.
Damn all Nissans are ugly YES INFINITI's TOO.

I'm a Nissan fan and have no problem with a company trying to establish some brand identity. Its not just Nissan. We can say all BMWs look the same. Especially all Mercedes look the same. The C, E, S, CLK, CL, SL class all confused the hell out of me for a while. Nothing wrong with that. Acura's/Honda's look the same. I see similar styling cues in the IS, tC, solara and corolla. This is nothing new.

Haha If I was in the market for a car right now I think I would get the 6spd 270hp Altima Coupe. For like half the price of the IS 350... ouch. Ya I know... totally different car but at maybe half the price and decent speed better handling (if based off the G35) its hard not to take a second look... but I know I'll be board of it in a few months when everyone and their mothers have one.

Well as a G35 owner I take no offence to this new Altima Coupe it is similar but not as graceful as my G35 Coupe and its not even close to the new G35 that will appear sometime next year..
Like Picus (Hey buddy!) mentioned most people only have nice things to say about the design of the G35 Coupe..

The new G35 looks sharp and sexy! Every time I see that car I tell myself that's the kind of car I should drive, not this bigass LS400/430

I honestly still like the Nissan Altima coupe (although the wifey likes it tooo ..lol)
We will all be surprised to see how good these things will look dropped on some nice 19" rims and tints... As mentioned earlier a g35 grill kit and emblem removal and "bam" fake g35 at about 10k savings....lol

are you saying its going to be on the same frame, as in, going to RWD? because dont forget the g35 is also basically the 350z.
Its cheaper for auto companys to keep building on the same chassis, allthough I dont know how cost prohibitive it is to go from a FWD setup to a RWD setup.
if its just styling, then who cares, nissan = infiniti, of course they are gonna make copys, heh
