Poor man's G35 VS. IS350 [2008 Altima Coupe] (merged threads)
A while back I saw a video of an Altima VS IS350:

With the new G35 clone coming out, I wonder how they'd stack up. Or better yet how the real G35 stacks up against it's brother.
It'll be interesting.
Here are the engine choices: 170-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine or the 3.5-liter VQ V6 rated at 270 horsepower and 258 ft-lbs. of torque, both available with either an Xtronic CVT or 6-speed manual.

Damn...it does look good...waaay too similar to the G35 though. Good for the Altima buyer...bad for the G35 owner. The front wheel gap is pretty huge though... ...sadly...just about as bad as the GS350 AWD...

Concept eh?....looks the same as the current model except for 19 or 20" rims, exhaust integrated into rear bumper and different side-view mirrors. A few little cosmetic changes...looks good...but not really different. I like the rims...a bit M5'ish

I'm a G35 owner but I'm not pissed. Another coupe is all good. SC430 owners aren't pissed at the Toyota Solara. On the other hand, I've heard that some 911 owners are pissed at the Cayman. I can't imagine why. Who the heck cares.

Its for the US market. I saw it at the LA auto show and thought it was awesome. for that price... you cant beat it. I never cared for Altima's but after seeing this thing... I dont care if its a "altima" I think I want one... manual... daily driver... somthing to beat around in.

Flame me all you want, they clearly have run out of ideas. All their cars and coupes are too similar. This looks way to much like an Infiniti as do the refreshed Maxima and the new Altima. Just is going to confuse the customer.
It certainly will help Nissan sell but reading the forums, many owners are not happy.

I don't even like the look of it. The Altima has never thrilled me and this coupe is not great. I mean yea it looks okay but the styling is just still.. eh.. I haven't seen any mid-size sedan based coupes come out well. The Accord is blah, the Solara got a little better with the refresh but I still probably wouldn't buy one and this is pretty bland too. The G6 coupe is bland.
I honestly don't know why owners of similar cars would get mad. Who cares if your car looks like something else. I mean it's not like you're trying to make your car look like theirs. You should be happy with your purchase. Now I could see if it was competing in the same segment and was cheaper and you liked this model better than I'd be mad. Like say if the Altima was RWD and with a better engine and it was cheaper and I liked the styling better than "my" G35 coupe (I don't own one) than I'd be pretty mad.
