if you are crazy like jay leno, you could also put a kitchen in ur garage and sleep and eat there

doing the epoxy is not a nightmare. i just did it on ours last month. took me two days and it's been good since. the key of course is the prep the floor, that's why we did ours as soon as we got the keys and before any cars get into the garage (tires and grease are big no-no).
i got the stuff from ucoatit.com. around 500 bucks for the flake version. came out pretty nice, both me and my wife love it
i suggested the tile idea as well, looks pretty cool. maybe for our next garage. right now i am looking into gett stuff "around" the garage and also better lighting

btw metro vac is not just a shop vac
it blows very clean air to dry up your car after washing it
so its good if you detail your own car
if not then a shopvac might suffice for cleaning the garage and the interior of your car
