Theres a bunch of things you can do with your garage...a lot of people like to put the white and black tiled flooring and do it themselves most of the time!
heres what it looks like..http://mbworld.org/forums/showthread...ghlight=garage

whoa- that was a nice garage.

yeah- epoxy or tiles will help. don't forget to put up shelving and a bench for working on mods.

Run a 220V line and sub-panel to power all your fun machinery. Finish the garage if not done...I hate staring at 2x4" studs. Paint walls a color you like. Yeah, epoxy floor. Wire for sound and or TV hook-up's. Add ducting for A/C/heat if you spend time out there. Loft space and cabinets for storage.

good point RA40 - i forgot to mention the 220v line. luckily my house came with it but i haven't picked up any HUGE tools to use it yet.

seeing as how the original poster is in north carolina, i would suggest he get an AC unit dropped into the wall to help out with the humidity when he's working in the garage during the summer.

LOL.....sell the scooter in the back right corner (Chrome handle bars), and buy some drywall and paint.

Good Lord......

Is that an impound?

what exactly is epoxy for the floor? is that a DIY or do I have to have someone come in to do it? So far I plan on finishing the garage (sheetrock) , adding shelves and doing the tiles. Plus I'll be adding a compressor.

hey Philip.. are those all your bikes? that's sick!

The epoxy flooring is a real PITA...the concrete prep involved is key to the success, and many factors are out of your control (weather/humidity/etc...) If you are thinking about going that route, I highly suggest having it professionally done. My Home Depot epoxy paint began peeling within 2 weeks of applying, and I religiously followed the suggested steps prior to applying. I went the black & white tile route, and 6 years later, they are holding up great. I installed the tiles myself, and total cost of materials was under $500.

While shelving and work space are necessary, you can't forget to install adequate lighting to your garage. I have four 4' flourescents, each with 2 bulbs in them, and it is BRIGHT in my garage. Attached is a pcture of my RX-7 in the garage

Good luck!

anyone with tiles in the garage ever experience issues with water getting under the tiles? that post that Henry posted looked like the tiles were quite thick and it looked like there was some room under the tiles for water to collect...

kinda makes me think the epoxy is the way to go...

thoughts?
