Wow! California's no where near Top 10 on all three cars!!
That's a suprize to me... I guess I shouldn't complain about registration fee from now on...

Yeah, you aren't kidding, gene. Gray Davis really dug his own grave by tripling the car tax.........in a state that is the center of the nation's auto culture.

The legislators in Sacramento that voted for it probably would have been recalled, too, if the state constitution allowed it.

I remember that about Connecticut too where I have a friend in Westport where they have to pay a local property tax that includes vehicles.

In Mexico, they tried a few years ago to pass a law to make foreigner pay the tenencia (annual property tax) on their own foreign-plated vehicles which would have run seriously afoul of double taxation issues.

In Florida, it is just an annual fee of about $35 for a normal plate, nothing more.

I think you read it backwards. The higher fees are at the bottom. The least expensive are at the top.

Look again on the Camry we are the 4th most expensive, the 6th on the Ford and the third on the Audi. You can still complain because we are getting screwed but not as bad as Indiana and Nevada.
