Interesting that the FT-HS is using the same 3.5L 2GR-FSE as the 340hp GS450h but produces 400+hp. Must be some super powerful electric motors in there.

Yeah, and the Volta managed to do 0-60 in 4 seconds with just the 268hp RX400h powertrain. This FT-HS must be a heck lot heavier to do 0-60 in 4 seconds with over 400hp.

I do agree that I like the Volta concept better. It had a cleaner sleeker look to it. However, I can imagine the FT-HS having 400+ hp if they used new hybrid technology such as that of the 3rd gen Prius that is rumored to have more efficient batteries. Only time will tell.

Man, such NEGATIVE people on this thread... I keep getting the idea of antiClubLexus nowadays...
you complain about Toyota not making a sports car of any sort; then when info is delivered about it; you totally bash it. For one, this is obviously a concept. Two, not everything has to look like a BMW 3-series or Audi to be appealing.
I like the car; you can see the idea someone is going for. The 2GR-FSE already makes outstanding power... use your brains. If Toyota shifts the torqueband even further up the scale with a near-stock GR, they can use an electric motor to make up for the loss of lower-end torque and have a very wide and powerful powerband.
400hp is most definitely doable for that price.... just because BMW can't do it, doesnt mean it can't be done
Most of you do nothing but complain nowadays; its all I hear is people complaining about crap just for the sake of complaining. Its friggin Christmas Day so shut yer yap and be happy that MAYBE toyota might release this kind of car.
