6 bolts on a V-12 aluminum block is what I would call mandatory, but notice in the drawing, the four main cap bolts are not splayed at all as is standard practice on any racing engine. The primary forces are not perpendicular to the main cap's parting line, but the bolts are, so it's really tough to say just how reliable this particular bottom end will be. Hopefully it's a lot better than the 1UZ.

All true, but I had a conversation with George from MoTeC USA a few years back while visiting with Ara Arslanian at Turbos and Tumbleweeds in Palmdale that made me think otherwise. George's comment about the Toyota V-8 bottom ends was they are not nearly strong enough for big power. He made that comment to my suggesting it would be a really cool project to put together a 1UZ with twin turbos and stuff it in the Supra chassis.

I've seen UZ blocks running at 800 - 900 HP, and now Top Secret running a GZ at 1000HP. A weak block certainly would not be able to achieve this.
And as I understand it, the UR block has a stronger bottom end, having many racing advances and innovations over the UZ.

@lobux
Maybe george was referring to the internals? Or in comparison to the 2JZ? The block IS pretty stong, but the rods leave something to be desired. The 1-UZ rods are however, thicker and stonger than the 2/3UZ rods.
Like TRDFantasy I have seen UZ blocks taking in the region of 800whp.
You note that the main cap bolts arent spalyed, like on a racing engine....This engine was designed for a limo..its not a racing engine.

He was specifically referring to the block having too much vibration and insufficient webbing to support the crank at high load. Undoubtedly he was comparing it to the 2JZ since I was talking about putting the V-8 (with turbos) in a Supra. I'm also sure he was talking to service life, not just the ability to take a few dyno runs. Just about anything will hold together for the typical chassis dyno.
I realise the engine wasn't designed for a racing car, and I realise Toyota have developed V-10 engines that are full racing spec. It's just a shame they didn't do the same thing here. I wonder what the service life will be at high output. Typically a show car only has to make full power a few times.

Top Secret is known for being ridiculous but this doesn't honestly stand out. The same guys who were making 720HP from a 3SGTE?
I did some searching, medium boost it's making ~800hp. The current setup, is meant to be more street-able. So, c'mon already Top Secret, go all out. Max boost. make some serious power.
