They get firmer and firmer every year, along with lowerand lower-profile tires.......even on so-called " comfort " luxury cars like the Lexus ES350 and Cadillac DeVille/ DTS.
No. One you cannot accuse today's cars of is "soft" underpinnings. Those days are gone.

i'd be happy with the S2K if it had one thing: TORQUE!!!. Everyone who owns one says they love it as a sporty car to occasionally throw around, but to drive it even for a weekend is a pain because you have to be at 6k+ RPM's to go anywhere.
But yes: 4 seat S2K=LAME and a pity.

Of course if you're talking about adding a whole lot of power, then you should think about building the engine, swapping the differential, etc.

Japan Report: S2000 Successor To Get Acura Badge?
February 1st, 2007 9:13 AM
When we told you a while back that Honda was working on a possible four-seat replacement for the S2000, we were both right and wrong.
Right, in the sense that a design study is now on the way. Wrong, in giving it a Honda badge. We now hear it’s set to be an Acura.
If our sources in Japan are correct, Honda is moving well away from the hardcore, high revving uncompromising feel of the S2000, more towards the mainstream with the current proposal also fitted out with a retractable power hard top.
The rear-drive proposal is still at the ‘maybe’ stage, but we can definitely see a market for a more accommodating S2000 successor, especially with a bigger, better cabin.

Ahh man, here we go. I love the way the S2K looks. I still dont see why they are getting rid of it, I mean, yeah, it could use a freshen up, but the car looks great as it is. I hate the RX-8, they should have just made a newer RX-7.
4 Door sports cars..ehhh. Also, is that article saying they may make the new S2K FWD?

I was planing to trade in my 05 S2k for the next generation model. But if this is the direction Honda is going - moving away from the hardcore and toward the mainstream - then I am going to keep it.

Some history
1. The S2000 was a gift from Honda to itself. It was supposed to be one model, for one generation.
2. Sales far exceeded expectations. The car has been a big hit
3. Back when the S2000 was about to debut, Acura dealers BEGGED for it to be an Acura. It didn't happen.
At this point, NSX is now front engined, S2000 might be a 4 seat car, Intergra Type R is gone, NSX is gone.....your left with Pilot, Element, CR-V etc.
Seems the appeal of profits is too big to ignore. We cannot blame them, it is a business.

Yep. Unfortunately it sounds like what Toyota did too.
