I like it, but I'm not sure about the steering by wire system....I mean I already don't like the braking and throttle by wire systems already in place.
What the hell is *-by-wire. I've never driven a car with it or at least I don't think I have.
"By wire" means aircraft and automotive control systems manually controlled by the driver or pilot that do not have solid mechanical or mechanical-hydraulic boost connections all the way from the wheel or pedal to the device operated. Instead, "by-wire" systems use an electronic, computer-regulated system that interprets the pilot or driver's movement of yoke, wheel, or pedals, and translates that into a electronic command that sends a signal to the master cylinder, power steering pump, alierons, elevators, etc....to steer, handle, or brake the car or aircraft accordingly. First seen in the last-generation of military fighters, it has since been expanded to include other types of aircraft and inclusion into automotive systems, like the Mercedes and Lexus brake-by-wire systems and the throttle-by-wire systems of many other manufacturers. Experimantal steer-by-wire cars have been developed and tested, using aircraft-style small stick/yokes, but development problems and potential litigation have prevented these from going into production.
The main problem with by-wire systems is that it is difficult to get a good physical sense of driving or flying feel in the controls or a good sense of proportion and modulation.
