I'd say any car built today can do 100k easily. Now whether anyone would WANT to spend 100k mi. in some cars is another issue entirely.
I agree. Reliability is not a big an issue to many people especially if they flip cars every 3-4 years. I think what matters most is that you enjoy the car while you have it. I can't imagine buying a car just because it was highly reliable yet not enjoyable.
I am not going to last forever, so it does not matter to me if my car does. I say pick the car you like, whatever it is and enjoy.
