The only ones that come to mind are the Land Cruiser/LX470 (which may be going the way of the dinosaurs, apparently), the Range Rover (not Sport), and the G-wagen. Am I missing anything?

The new MB ML and GL (Motortrend SUV of the Year btw) class are quite good at off road and luxury, the LX (old and new), the Toureg, and the Porsche Cayenne. Define what you mean by "off-roading" and I might list some more.

Tiff is actually wrong about the ML 63 AMG being good at off-roading, even the AMG versions is very good at off-roading. Just watch the last video in my post.
Here's a video of an MB GL class off-roading: http://youtube.com/watch?v=f7ZZvZ65e...elated&search=
And here's a test featuring the Cayenne Turbo S vs the ML 63 AMG. Sorry it's in German: http://youtube.com/watch?v=X_w6a5O1dtY This video shows them both to bery proficient at off-roading. Yet, at the same time blisteringly fast on road and extremely luxurious, safe, and high-tech.

One more entertaining SUV video by JC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pTSk9IzD_I Very good video on showing what the Range Rover is capable of.
I would pick the LR (despite what some people may say about the quality), ML, Lexus LX or GX, or the Porsche Cayenne.

As far as the Germans go with long term reliability and off-roading go....you ever heard of the Dakar Rally (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakar_Rally)? or the G-wagen?
BMW X5 for the Dakar Rally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptxmebNTCDk
Mercedes G class doing some serious "off-roading"/Rock climbing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1u7I...elated&search=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S6Kt...elated&search=
You'd also be suprised to learn that parts for Lexus and parts for their German counter parts are actually pretty comparable price-wise these days, for example:
The price of a replacement water pump:
06' Lexus GX: Lexus Water pump
06' Mercedes ML: MB Water pump
The price of replacing Brake Rotors:
06' Lexus GX: Lexus Brake Rotors
06' Mercedes ML: Mercedes Brake Rotors
Take a look at any other parts and you will see my point.
Also, some GX off-roading vids:

I really like the RR and the GX and think both are wonderful contenders.
The GL ain't too bad either. I don't believe this particular GL in the video has the off-road package either, so that means no low range.

Lexus Fanatic
For a superb mix of both on-road and off-road comfort, the Range Rover, IMO, is tops...closely followed by the Lexus LX470, and the VW Touraeg. However, the Range Rover has.....and has always had......reliability issues, as has the Touraeg, to a lesser extent. I did not mention the Porsche Cayenne, because even though it is, in some ways, the Touraeg's twin, and still does well off-road, as a Porsche, it is aimed a little more towards on-road peformance than the Touraeg, lessening its capabilities a little in the boonies.
The soon-to-be-discontinued Mercedes G (Gelandewagen)-Wagon is superb off-road, with three electric-locking differentials, and the body, frame, and doors are like bank vaults ( I'm not kidding ) but, as a vehicle originally of German-Austrian military design, tends to have a stiff ride on dry pavement. But its durability is incredible, and being basically of the 1980's Mercedes generation, has NOT had the reliability problems that other recent M-B designs have.
