Passport 9500i... Best Getting Better!
My personal choices in the battle against tickets has and will always be: BEL/ESCORT. I have the BEL Pro RX65 and the Escort 9500 and they have saved my azz more times than my wife or can count! It is no coinsidence they are easily the number 1 selling radar detectors on earth, just do a search. Now they are raising the bar once again with what will surely be THE standard in latest technology for this battle!

Trust me the arrows are very useful in determining where the cops are and whether or not they are an actual threat. My V1 has saved me dozens of times on my trips back and forth between western and eastern WA.

The V1 vs Escort thing is one of the oldest dead horses on auto forums ever. I've used both, I now use an 8500, but that doesn't mean anything. Some people prefer the V1.
The 9500 looks nice, the GPS feature is really cool.

G35x - RWD/AWD goodness
If you have questions about the V1, please either search and if there already isn't something about it, start a new thread.

At the time of it's release in 1999, MPH's exclusive POP technology was the only radar technology that could measure a vehicle speed without setting off any radar detectors. This technology was made possible by MPH’s expertise in manufacturing microwave sources that can turn on and stabilize quickly and by digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. The radar can obtain a speed reading in milliseconds, which is far faster than an operator can operate a switch
When the MPH radar is placed into POP mode, the radar emits a short burst of energy and quickly measures the vehicle's speed. The radar then goes immediately into standby and displays the obtained speed for a couple of seconds. The entire measurement happens so quickly that the no radar detector in 1999 could detect it with any accuracy.
When POP radar first came out, some radar detector manufactures claimed that POP radar is nothing to worry about, and legally police cannot write you a ticket when using POP radar. We think this is totally ridiculous! Since most radar detectors made before 2005 cannot detect POP radar with any good accuracy, certain radar detector manufactures have used this as a defense.
Police departments all over the US are spending large sums of money to purchase and use POP radar guns, so you better believe they will write you a ticket if they detect you speeding while using their new POP radars. Although the new Bee III DSP POP radar is very expensive, this unit can generate a staggering amount of revenue from people who think their current radar detector is protecting them. This means police are using POP radar more and more - while giving out more speeding tickets than ever before.
