My young jedi knights. the point u miss it.
To say the RX is for moms and for grandmoms is ridiculous.
It is as ridiculous as me saying the X3 is for idiots.
I totally understand each car does have an "image" but let us not fall prey to it!
And yes I am mouthy...u should see me IN PERSON at meets!!

So I must be classified as an idiot.. Wish I could get away with making outlandish statements I don't just rely on magazines and videos.. The smart money like myself, actually goes out to various dealerships &drive the vehicles to determine whats hot from whats not...First off, the 06 x3 has more features than the previous model. Hill Decent control, beefed up brakes with m3 like stopping, panoramic roof and other features that make it a far better vehicle than its predecessor.. As far as the ride is concerned, it is not stiff as some hail it to be. All this ying yang coming from people who never driven or owned a BMW. I drive this vehicle on many pot hole riddled streets in NYC. It actually soaks up the bumps real well with quiet aplomb. Not jarring at all as some critice deem it. Handeling is this vehicles forte. It carves the corners like no other vehicle.. On par with the M3 Comp package at .88g's and has no body roll. This vehicle also has a steptronic tranny with a sport mode.. Flog it in sport and the horsepower feels limitless. I wanted a sports activity vehicle that i can haul stuff in, and I have one. The Rx does not fit the bill for me. Too softly sprung, loose steering, spungy brakes, slow.. IN NYC, most of the folks I see driving Rx's are elderly.. I figure it is better suited for them. So my money went towards an x3 instead of a RX 7 i am more than pleased

SUVs need lots of storage, and extra torque for towing. Also, they should have off-road capability.
Performance vehicles need to be light, low, and fast. An SUV is neither light (bigger vehicles mean more weight), nor low (their center of gravity is much higher than most regular sedans/coupes), and can be fast, but with the excess weight, doesn't reach top speeds as expected with same-hp sedans. Have you ever tried cornering an SUV at high speeds? You'll know it when you feel it...
I would like a more performance-oriented-SUV. However, there is no such thing as a performance-SUV.

i still would like to see toyota or lexus comeo out w/ some performance oriented SUV/SAV/Crossover whatever you want to call it. If anything to attract the men to the showroom to look at say an RX which i think more women own/drive right? Cant hurt, it wont be a volume seller but will up the image a little.

I totally understand if the situation came UP, yes a X5 or Cayenne, etc is sportier/safer in those rare, 1% driving situations.
Otherwise, its all in your head and the marketing department should get a raise!!!
Its like teaching an elephant that can "dance with the stars".

Would be interesting for some. Me?? I see no need for it yet.
Lets worry about the IS-F first and LF-A (and making performance versions of Lexus vehicles that actually make more sense)before we start thinking about a RX-F.

Lexus might bring a JX i.e GS based crossover (rumors) or not. Clearly they are doing well with their 3 SUVs and missing the boat with sporty ones.
The funny thing is the current RX is sportier than the 1st gen!
