The Taurus is back! (Taurus, Taurus X, and Sable)

BOLD MOVES indeed . Ford is going to have to win some 'award' for this Bold Move.
From Edmunds.com Inside Line page:
This is probably the funniest thing I've ever read at Edmunds. I don't think they are impressed. They should have renamed the Freestyle to Windstar though
From Edmunds.com Inside Line page:
Well, Ford announced today that the Taurus is making a comeback, in name at least. The current Five Hundred will now be called the Taurus. Something tells us that come this summer when the renamed Five Hundred arrives in dealerships, not one preteen car enthusiast will notice.
Ford has also renamed the updated 2008 Mercury Montego to — can you guess? — the Mercury Sable. The Freestyle crossover for 2008 becomes — less predictably — the Malcolm, er, Taurus X.
In related, but untrue news, the Focus will now be referred to as either the Escort or Pinto. The Mercury Milan will be called the Tracer and all other Ford models for 2008 will be called Windstar.
We covered the changes to the 2008 Taurus when Ford introduced it a month ago as the 2008 Five Hundred. The name is the only change to the vehicle in the last 30 days.
What's Edmunds' take?
There are forests and there are trees. And there is a difference between the two

Crazy because Ford says that more people can relate to the name Taurus/Sable than 500/Montego and that they would have to spend big money to make those names stick. So instead, they rather use the old names.
My older brothers first car was a Taurus. Yea I remember that name, but for all the wrong reasons. Nothing worked on that car. NOTHING!! Everything broke up until the day he gave it away to charity. Very roomy cars for its time. but unfortunately thats about it.

LOL, i like it when you said "for all the wrong reasons". What are they smoking in Detroit? Relate to what? When people see or hear the name Taurus, they probably won't touch it with a 10 foot stick.
