Default Gas Station Quality Affecting mpg

Funny thing Im finally noticing this week, I usually fill up at Racetrack and get 19-20mpg on my SC400 with standard driving and no heavy foot. But my gas tank was completely empty and I had to stop at the nearest Chevron for the same octane gas (91). Now Im close to half tank and Ive only ran 80 miles so far. Nothing in the car has changed otherwise, and gas lid has been on secure. I get the impressino that Chevron has better gas (with techron and additives)...so shouldnt this yield better mpg...Anyone else experience or even notice this when changing gas stations? Ive never seen anything drop as dramatic as this before.

When I am up in the states with my RX (hardly ever), I try 1/4 tanks of gas at a time, usually Chevron at Laredo, TX and then Sunoco. I find the Sunoco actually gives me a little more kick performance wise, but less MPG (so great for track), but the Chevron does give me better MPG.

Maybe you got an extra heavy dose of ethanol? It kills your fuel mileage.

80 miles on half a tank!? That's what, 8mpg!? I'd say either your fuel guage is screwed up or you misread the ODO or you didn't fill it up.

could be. im past half tank and at 120miles, its picking up. I know that the fuel indicator is a little inaccurate because most of the gas is at the second part of my tank, but the mpg im getting is ridiculously low. I don't know what that particular chevron is cooking but im stickin with racetrack as usual from now on
