His conclusion on the 335. 3 outta 5 stars and here is a car trying to blend it all

Jeez, what does the 335i have to do with the LS460?

I am going to post nicely but I will mention do u post anywhere outside of threads with BMW in it? (nevermind I just checked)

It was not a KNOCK against the 335. Clearly the car, your car is a fine car. The point made to ff was, while the LS may not be sporty at all, Lexus decided to go the luxury route and pull it off. In comparison, the 335 ACCORDING TO CLARKSON, does not as it blends both.

That is all. It is Clarkson's opinion. I think the 335 is a kick *** car.

You're going to post nicely? How polite of you. Thanks for checking my post history, as you can see I post in plenty of topics that have nothing to do with the 335i; mostly the detailing forum...that's where I'm a mod you know?

All I asked was what the 335i has to do with the LS460? Answer, nothing.

Yeah, you didn't put those rolleyes there did you. Rolleyes means "cool" or "nice". Sure they do. You missed the entire point of my previous post.

Well the point is that the vaunted 3-series got 3 stars of 5 from Top Gear's JC, while the LS series got 4 stars out of 5. Not that both cars compete with each other at all, but you could argue that the LS and the 3-series are the most famous and reputable cars in their respective manufacturer's lineups.

And the LKA is Lane Keep Assist, which we don't yet get in the US...but the LS h might.

It is an important component of the eternal BMW vs Lexus pissing
match that takes over every thread in Car Chat.

Back on topic :

For Clarkson standards that's really high praise.

The LS460 is an awesome car and most reviewers know what it's
for. LUXURY. If I had my choice that's what I wish I were driving
right now.

That review was hilarious. Clarkson is a great comedian, lol.

A British dude praising a Japenese car. Has Hell really frozen over?

As for as the usual BMW/Lexus comparos, Why?! We know they are different and each have their positives. They are different on purpose!!
And thank God for that.

It's funny all the Bimmer guys always talk driving dynamics. But that's it!
Does the BMW do anything else great? This is why LEXUS is # 1 in America because more people place greater importance on the areas that Lexus excels in.

If anyone thinks a car company can build a car that drives like an M3 but feels as comfortable and is as quite as an LS460 is kidding themselves.

Oh hell, I'll fall for it....

How about the 550? Seems to split the M3/LS460 dif really nice. Lose the run-flat tires and I'll bet it is as comfortable and quiet as the LS to boot.

The S550 is much more LS than M3. Not even close to the M3 in performance.

It's like people are trying to compare an Indy race car to a limo. Opposite engineering characteristics.

Don't they offer a LWB 5 in China. That would be interesting here.

Come on, you're not seriously comparing the 5 series to the LS?

Ah.

Still, even if you put big fat Buick tires on a BMW 550i, it's still no where close to being as smooth, comfortable and quiet as an LS460. It's not necessarily a negative thing, just different for a reason.

Nope, leave the same old 18" that come on it - just make them non-run-flats.

You should drive one I think you might be amazed.
