In terms of handling, it doesnt even come close. IMHO, GX handles worse than a my 4runner with Xres suspsion. But, I prefer truckish ride (4runner, GX or LX) over these Sport Ute ride (MDX, X5, RX).

In terms of value, GX wins. The X5 is failry well equipped is pushing 70K, and that's Range Rover price range.

But then again, they are 2 different car all together.

ROFL You got that right.

The X5 is a nice vehicle. I owned a 2004 model. As a BMW owner, I can tell you we tolerate too much much poor quality considering the price we pay. Never again for me. At least not for a car I have to RELY on.

Pretty amazing that a Chevy is more reliable than a BMW.

Maybe I'm lucky? Who knows.. I can only go by what I personally experience and my BMW experience has been stellar. I rarely keep any car past 36 months though.. maybe that is when things go bad?
Wow, just oil changes huh?

Vehicle weights...
MDX 4559
X5 3.0 4982
X5 4.8 5335

So the X5 weighs 776 lbs more than the MDX.
