According to the thread in the RX section, the US available batteries are different...

...the ones for Lexus cars made in Japan are supplied by Panasonic.

Lexus/Toyota batteries are made by a host of different suppliers. They are not limited to Panasonic and etc.

The one in my parent's Sienna is made by Johnson Controls, who makes batteries for Sears, Costco, Wal-Mart, Mopar, some Ford, some Honda, and Nissan. I've also seen Exide as well, which supplies most Mopar and most Ford, and sends their rejects to Kragen...

Johnson Controls also manufactures batteries for Interstate/Optima. Interstate supplies batteries to Toyota badged as True Start batteries. About sending the rejects to Kragen...that's false.

Funny, everytime I'm at Kragen, there's always someone *****ing about their batteries, and since the Pinole Kragen has a self-service oil dump, I see a pallet of defective batteries, almost all of them are their brand...

And no wonder why Costco began selling Optimas 2 years ago...

I think back in the day, they came with Panasonics OEM. At least our 92 did IIRC. The first one last about 6 years.
