Generally you probably only get the static when it's cold and dry. So one simple solution is GLOVES.

INSIDE the house, another solution is to add a humidifier. I added them to my home in Atlanta when I lived there, and holy holy - problem solved.

So after a few weeks of this I get tired of it... I go to the store and get a couple of cans of Static Guard spray

and dose the carpet all the way from the parking deck to our office.

She scuffs her way in and touches my head. Nothing, I just grin.

It turned to not such a nice victory when she had a hard time breathing... apparently all that static guard triggered her asthma. Some co-workers who had witnessed the weeks of fireworks said it was deserved, but I still felt bad. But it makes for a funny story 15 years later, lol.
That was a riot. LMAO

Mental image of butt frozen to side of car or post when he slipped.

if you tap your car very quickly with your hand, that can eliminate the static shock...

Grab onto a metal part of the car as you get out. Or get a leather grounding strap on your car. I recommend the touch car with key method myself. Use the valet key or something and touch the inside of the door frame. I also do this in my friend's apartment since they have carpeting in the hallways... cool blue spark as I put the key to the door.

Remember to YouTube if you do shoot it up.

Try using some moisturizer on your hands

Try Fairbanks AK in the winter. -50F outside. Humidity is dead zero percent. Even holding my room key in my hand as a discharge point, I got arcs to the door **** from 10cm away without any foot dragging. And they STILL hurt every joint in my hand.

The cloth seats in my tC were terrible for this in NorCal winters too. I know just how you feel. ONE MORE TIME AND IT'S IN THE CRUSHER!!!
