Can somebody please fill me in on Audi's naming scheme? RS, S? Seriously what the hell, stick with one and leave it. Or are they using two different tiers? RS as an all out crazy performance division and S as a mild tuned but still quicker than in A form. Or is S supposed to be like BMW's M-sport package, or L-Tuned.

Preview: Audi A5 Cabriolet
Monday 26 February 2007
Now that Audi’s A5 coupe has been revealed, it’s only a matter of time until we see the release of the Cabriolet version. This latest rendering gives us an early look at the car’s new styling ahead of the model’s launch in roughly twelve months time. The A5 Cabriolet is scheduled to enter production alongside its hardtop cousin at a plant in Neckarsulm, Germany, where it’s expected to replace the current A4 convertible in Audi’s lineup.
Unlike its 3-series rival from BMW, Audi will likely employ a lightweight canvas roof for its new convertible that will save both on costs as well as storage. Expect the car to be powered by the same engines as found in the coupe, which means the latest FSI and TDI engines, with output ranging from 125 to 195kW (170 to 265 bhp). There’s also likely to be V8 powered S5 and RS5 performance models as well.
Audi is also rumoured to be working on even more drop-top models including a possible performance roadster variant with a mid-engine layout. Follow the jump to see the rendering of the new A5 drop-top in full.

i think as far as tiers go,
the A is the standard, the S is the one with the fatty engine and big wheels (but to be honest not much else)
and the RS is "competition" for the M and AMG cars.
and for us in the US we've only been getting the S-line cars, but i'm pretty sure previous generation Audi models still had their RS-line.

Wow, i like the A5 a lot! I love the front of the car... the grille...head lights... im glad audi's continuing with the new facelift that they came out with for all of their models. However, the rear and sides of the car remind me A LOT of the new 3-series coupe...Regardless, i love the design, and i hope it comes out into production soon!
