any porsche 911 owners?
I'm contemplating on getting a 911 in the future. That or an NSX but it seems to find one within my budget. So far I'm leaning more on early to mid 90s. I just like the body style better, but would consider any year as long as it fit my budget. As of now, i would think $25-30K. What I would like to know is which is a desireable year to get? Years to avoid? Pros? Cons? Common problems? Things to look for.. Could definitely use some feedback. Tnx.

You can get a higher mileage 996 in that range but I would avoid.
993 is the last aircooled 911 and not as modern as the newer cars.
I know, when I leave Lexus, 911 here I come
6speedonline.com is a great source, I am on there as well.

The 997's came out in 05'. My car is valued at around $70k right now with 20k miles on it, so yeah it's a little out of your reach. You should consider a 993 or a Boxster S.

yeah now is not a great time to buy an used 911
because 997 is really something worth waiting for if you are buying used
also in a few years, there might be more affordable used cayman S out on the market, giving u more choices

You should be considering a differnent car if you only have 25-30k to spend because a 911 in that price range is gonna have highmileage/ragged out. 35k min for a nonturbo, 45k for a turbo (996 of course). Like 1sicklex said ... the 993s are not modern at all and they arent nearly as reliable as the 996s. Maybe you should be looking at something more along the lines of a 02 or 03 vette z06 or 03 mustang cobra

you wont get $70 for your 997 but yea its still out of this guys price range. the values on the 993's are pretty good compared to the 996's. honestly i would get a nsx over a 996. 993 turbo is where its at.

edit: i just noticed your 997 is an S. so maybe it is worth $70 depending on options.

I agree, for that stated price range, look elsewhere, not Porsche. I tried to find a 911 for 35K. I found some but none were worth it. Plus, you need a special savings account for maintenance and repairs and insurance. Porsche is pure sex but it's a high maintenance car...like a high maintenance chick...demands lots of attention....but well worth it. Save up more money or go for the NSX....oe something else. I also like a corvette in that price range.
