Best automotive audio sound system in the world?

My suggestion is to look in the audio maniac section of the local B&N instead of asking for opinions in a forum if youre doing any kind of objective research. Audiophile magazine had some very good data and measurments on the ML sound system in it's first appearance in a Lexus. I don't know if they've reviewed the new systems or the B&O system in the Audi. I think their final conclusion was to think of it as buying a ML system and getting a car for free.

B&o's Got Better Design(look) For Sure. But I Doubt That It Is Better Than Ml. However, I Believe That They Both Are The Very Best Car Audio Systems At This Moment.
The Most Important Thing Is That A Car Needs To Be Extremely Quiet In Order To Experience The Pure Sound Made By The Audio System. In The Market Now, I Don't Think Anybody Can Be Better Than Lexus When It Comes To Quietness.

Here's another article with a description of the challenges faced and some of the comparable features, with this description of Lexus included:

Though packing 19 speakers into the Lexus LS460 may sound like overkill, Trevor Neuman, a vice president of Mark Levinson, said that is what it took to achieve the sound quality they wanted. Twelve speakers are in the doors, for example, so each passenger in an outboard seating position hears natural sound from a tweeter, a midrange speaker and a woofer.
Levinson engineers began working with Lexus in 2002 on the Reference Surround system early in the LS460 design stage. At first, Lexus engineers thought it would be impossible to package 19 speakers, but later they reported they found room for two more.
"We told them that 19 works just great. It gets us where we're trying to go," Neuman said.
Designing the car with sound in mind, Lexus carved holes in door panels for the speakers and mounting screws. Levinson, part of Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, designed every component except the tweeters. That meant that speakers in the instrument panel and front roof pillars could be angled to capture the best reflective sound off the windshield.
"The advantage we have is that we worked with them from the beginning to integrate the system into the car," he said.
How can they top that?

I don't care what system they use. I just wanna know what's up with the next Q!! They have to be cooking up something lovely. The game is passing them by. Everyone is putting out Flagships now. Even Acura is contemplating a V8 in the upcoming RL.

Yeah really. I wouldn't be surprised though if they pulled an Acura move and have one foot in and one foot out the luxury flagship bin and just leave us with the M45.

Yes, which is crazy. Why would you buy a car like that and not get the B&O? But it's true--my local Audi dealer told me I couldn't come in and listen to one because it's special order and they never sell them.
