Hopefully that will change with the new SC460.

I think the next generation SC should go after the CL-Class, long wheel base, pilarless coupe look.
Lexus needs to restore the magic that made the first generation 300/400 a classic.

Still an awesome car!
I cant wait to see the next SC.
Closest thing to the QE2 on the road is the new RR Phantom Drophead
I cant wait to see the next SC.
Buyers in search of a drop-top automotive QE2 are advised to shop elsewhere

I dont care what any review says, SC430 is damn gorgeous, it gives me shivers every time i see one. I was seriously thinking about trading my GS430 for it, until I test drove one. Amazing interior, best in the entire Lexus lineup, unfortunately the car is just too small for my 6'4" frame.

That is the Toyota Camry Solara, otherwise known as the Solara. It borrows some design cues from the SC 430 and even has some resemblance to the original SC.
But it is miles and miles away different, as many have pointed out on these forums.
Although, considering Top Gear's preference for the Tiburon over the SC
..they might like the Solara better LOL.
I happen to like the SC, and believe it accomplishes its mission well. It is the one exception in the Lexus lineup where the next generation did not flow directly from the first.
In that respect the SC was an experiment, a move upmarket and into convertible iconic status. They called it the "jewel of Lexus" and it still is.![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
However I can't wait to see what happens in the future when the LF-A, SC, and IS coupes arrive in dealerships. There we have 3 vehicles, so far only 1 even seen in tangible form, and still without being finalized for production.
The other 2 vehicles are complete question marks. Convertibles? 2 or 4 seats? Styling?
I really can't wait to see what L-Finesse styling does when put in coupe form. We already see how they restyled the lines of the new IS..

SC is always a controversial car
ppl either hate it to death or love it

SC430 is so unique that only unique people will buy it
unique in a good way that is

But it definitely is not a car for young people. The reason we got it back when it came out was we wanted to replace our aging SL500. We wanted the new SL, but the waiting list was really long since the redesigned model came out at the same time as the SC. Didn't really have the patience for the waiting list, so an AR SC430 moved into the garage.

SC430 was driven by Regina in Mean Girls (dont ask me why i watched that movie, its one of the sacrifice a boyfriend has to make lol)
it was also featured in Infernal Affairs and many other movies
all driven by young ppl
i think SC430 can be a very hot car after some modding
like a body kit, nice wheels, and some dropping, it can be so hot
