no one was impressed with the new M5 sound either...and still arent. its just one of lifes facts...bmw will be known for that sound. its unique i suppose, much in the same way some things about the IS-F is unique to lexus.

Despite the fact that I think BMW interiors have all the beauty of a Panzer, I love the exterior of this M3. Can't wait until the M3 and the IS-F hit the showrooms and I can try them out.

I can deal with the front bumper but the hood bulge and the lower rear bumper portion have got to go!

The sound clip isn't exactly high quality either. At least the IS-F sound clip was up close and personal because we have an insider.

I think the E46 M3 sounds better actually.
IMO, for sound I6>V8 any day of the week

Now I know why they won't let me rev my engine at Hot Import night or any indoor show that matter. I don't have my flame retardant race suit on like the BMW dude in the video.

Either this M3 must be too manly of a car for the average BMW exec, so they have to hire a professional race driver just to park it or BMW knows how to market their vehicles. Lexus could learn a thing or two from applying some Rice strategies.

Tom Purves, the BMW USA chairman actually drives these cars.. Have you see the BMW M special on the speed channel? there is a thread on here with the youtube link, and Purves gets behind the wheel of the V10 M6 and the legendary 74 3.0 CSL on a track.

man that is ugly. The last model is better. That stupid crease down the side of the car really kills it for me. The whole car just looks cheap, looks like they are doing the Pontiac thing and sticking on stupid skirts/cladding.

These things WILL sell like hot cakes.

Most magazines WILL more than likely praise it.

Most car enthusiasts WILL hold it as a bench mark for its class.

Most non-BMW owners WILL bash it.

Nothing seems to have changed... Yes, in this thread, I am partially biased!

Other than the lower part of the rear bumper and the "closely spaced" muffler tips, I think it looks great!

I love that CF roof!!! The wheels look remarkably like the previous gen M5 wheels.

It will be another win for BMW - no question about that. There is no reason to assume that it will not offer class leading chassis dynamics and steering feel. This is BMW's forte after all.

I just hope the IS-F can come even close to the M3 in chassis dynamics so that there are more choices in this segment. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Keep in mind this is the M3 Coupe ... the true competitor to the IS-F will be the M3 sedan.
