My guess is some of those buyers are going to change their minds and back out once they see the trunk space on the LS600hL.

All that matters to them is how many sets of golf clubs will fit.

I highly doubt that.

That 2 tone alabaster interior with leather dash is absolutely
sick. I can understand why there is a 1 year backlog

I'm puzzled why that interior has a cut line on the dashboard for the passenger airbag. The standard LS does not have it (the airbag is completely "hidden"), and most cars have done away with it. It especially looks cheap on such an expensive car. Does anyone know why the cut line is there?

maybe coz' the whole dash is wrapped in leather on the 600hl but the airbag part they have to do it differently?

I didn't think the car was for sale yet? In which case all 1,800 or so are ORDERED by dealers already - none have been sold.

I expect it to be a very hot car and every dealer ordered their max allocation.

Bingo. I'm a bartender at a country club and the board members and big shots there (owners of big businesses in town, owners of Law Firms, ex-judges, etc) only care about one thing: golf.

Speaking of which, I got to meet Archie Manning Friday night. He was the guest speaker at one of the club functions: Camp Rap-a-Hope, a camp and organization for kids and teens with cancer.

People who have money for these cars will probably have more than one car in the household anyways. If they need to do grocery shopping or something, they'll probably take their Buick or something

Actually grocery shopping might not be a big problem, even with the trunk of my SC, it's surprising good for grocery shopping with the top up, together with the back seats I use the SC more for groceries since it's my weekend car & that's when I get most of my groceries. The problem with a small trunk is for those who want to use it for long trips & need good luggage space. But like said above, many buyers of these cars probaly have other cars anyway, like a SUV or van, which are more suitable for long trips for family anyway.
I don't travel by car too far out of town anymore though, we prefer to fly . . .

Well, I wouldn't say it's so popular, there weren't that many made. Don't get me wrong, I always thought if I was a Real Estate agent, this would be the ideal car.

I'm guessing that the dash element for the airbag is because of the leather...with vinyl maybe they score the airbag opening from the inside, but with the leather application perhaps that is too difficult to do so reliably.

I would love to sit there and run my hands across the leather...oh wait maybe gloves.

Not surprised if this year's allocation has already been sold out. The waiting list I predict will be long for this car, at least as long as the one for the GS450h.
