Who needs this? You do.
Bose's new audio unit for the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is as sophisticated as the car itself.

Audio systems often get short shrift in super sports cars. After all, aren’t you supposed to focus on the driving experience as you’re serenaded by sweet engine music accompanied by a perfectly tuned exhaust note? Who cares whether the car even has an audio system, right?
The folks at Ferrari and Bose care, that’s who. These giants in their respective arenas of expertise are teaming up to offer superb audio in the equally superb $250,000 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The first-ever head-unit-to-speakers car audio system from Bose will be standard equipment on the Scaglietti.
Besides the audio system, complete with a 30-gigabyte hard drive and a multiformat disc drive, the Bose head unit provides navigation and hands-free operation. But you’ll likely want to use your hands, if not for the tactile response, then for the immensely cool proximity sensor that detects when your hand is nearing the tuning **** and automatically changes the video screen from a navigation display to an audio readout. What car?
