Why not? Maybe it just happens that the cobalt and the pt cruiser did best in their study?

Maybe I'm in denial. I just think they are poorly built cars and that there had to be some direct correlation between build quality and the interior being harmful to your health.

Nothing was proven about ANY of the cars being harmful to your health.

Analysis of apple peel will show it contains chemicals from the fertilizers and pesticides used. You want to stop eating apples because of that?

Back when exposure standards were first written for what were thought to be low levels of exposure, chemicals like benzene were considered fairly innocuous. Of course to be safe (when long-term effect were unknown), the first exposure standards were written incredibly low - so the outgassing of many new cars' dashboards was deemed an unacceptable health hazard.

Times have changed. The heavy vapors rising off interior vinyl have been greatly reduced. Once the windows of most European cars would "fog up" after a few days closed up in the hot sun. This would go on for years. The white oily stuff collecting on the inside of the windows was coming from the vinyl interior, and had to be cut with ammonia to remove it, rather than just push it around.

Kinda messed with that nice "new car smell". but at least you could see out of the windows.
