Chill man. I am sure they don't really care about your zero respect for them either, because they are targeting a different type of customers.

Its a huge compliment for them to recognize Lexus as the Japanese luxury leader and go after them. Good for Hyundai, competition makes everyone better.

Never though I would consider a Hyundai. Even less cross shop them with Lexus, but I did this winter. My girlfriend wanted a medium size crossover (or SUV). We looked/test drive the 07 Hyundai Santa Fe and all the others in that group. Then I said hey, why not look at what Lexus has to offer. We test drove a RX350 and found the quality on par with Hyundai. Now that is with a price difference of 17000$ CAD! It was a no brainer for her. We take the Santa Fe as our daily driver and every time I drive it's still put a smile on my face after 3 months.

If they make the Genesis I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking in this segment. I urge anyone to see and test these cars before forming an opinion on these new bread from Hyundai.

Hyundai is becoming more a contender with each new model. I've been thoroughly impressed with my friend's Sonata. If I were in the market for a camry or Accord, i would definitely take a look at the Sonata. The new Genesis looks spectacular. Yes, yes, bits and peices of different cars here and there, but in the end, it works for me. I agree with previous posters that if I were in the market for a near luxury car, this would be on that list. Hopefully they continue to improve and push the value limits. Lexus has slowly moved up the pricing scale where they are now price competitive with the Germans they set out to compete with. Infiniti hasn't really filled the niche. If Hyundai can and brings about another price/quality/refinement battle among the luxury brands, then so be it. I don't see that happening yet but its a company i would definitely keep an eye on.

sorry bro, but if you found quality of Santa Fe on par with RX350, then something is wrong with your standards.

Santa Fe is an great SUV, and great new model by Hyundai... but it doesnt match Rav4, let alone RX. Interior is still korean, although much better korean than before. And price is now same as rest of the pack, which equals lower sales for Hyundai...

We have both stores (in Europe) next to each other, and we sell around 70 Rav4's vs 5 Santa Fe's...
