Finally, the Volkswagen Phaeton is going to get its first major overhaul since its debut in 2002.. The 2010 Volkswagen Phaeton is reported to lose some weight, become a bit smaller and a little more agile than its predecessor.
Volkswagen will lineup the 2010 Phaeton between the Audi A6 and A8 while using a lot of Audi components reports AutoZeitung.

Smaller, more agile, between the A6 and A8? looks like maybe something cheaper than the first phaeton that will actually appeal to VW shoppers? I think going a notch below the current one is a good idea as their uber sedan was a sales disaster. Maybe notching slightly above the Passat will appeal to more shoppers. Doesn't look like they're planning to compete with the A8, S or 7 anymore.

The first Phaeton was impressive inside and out....however I'm not dropping 80K on a VW. That said, this rendition is lame. I hope VW isn't serious with these plans.
