If you look at some of the drawings of the F-concept a couple years ago, the somewhat disguised photos of this RX-F actually carries some of the more producible features forward into steel. A little repackaging of the V8/transfer case could accommodate the extra length of the engine with only a modest increase in track.

Such a vehicle would have to be AWD to get all that torque to the ground. While an SUV isn't going to be much of a sports car, it might be a good test bed that would require minimal repackaging for a test of concept for this and other models.

Now, as to specific power output, who knows? Maybe with direct injection . . .

The current RX is such a feedback free cream-puff, I can't even begin to imagine a performance variant of it. The only thing crazier to me would be like an SVT/performance variant of the Crown Vic - oh, wait... Mercury already did that. And it sucked.

Then again if the RX, for the next generation yet to come out, is made over as dramatically as the new MDX was, then I guess I could see it happening.

I wouldn't necessarily want to see an LX-F, but the GX-F would be nice. To me the RX is just a little too feminine to begin with, so making it pumped up and masculine would be sort of weird.
