Audi is an example of a car manufacturer that has refound its mojo and yes, is also my second favorite car manufacturer. Contrast that to BMW which has lost its way and has abandoned its focussed purist driver approach and is now mainly a purveyor of ( admittedly stylish) poseurmobiles. Stylish luxurious and practical but poseurmobiles nonetheless. Bought by those who want the cachet of the "Ultimate Driving Machine" but too lazy to do their own research or else they would have known that BMWs have effectively
ceased to be the ultimate driving machine 3-4 years ago.

you have to credit the euro brands with one big thing: focus. in strategy and execution. hasn't always been that way, and i think lexus had a lot to do with getting the euros to get their mojo back.

nothing like (fair) competition to bring out the best!

i've always loved audis, but i also love mb, bmw, and of course, lexus!
many GREAT vehicles in all of these brands.

Lol, nice thread revival. I like Audi much more than before. Iv'e driven a ton of their newer models and have many Audi enthusiast friends as well. All that said I'm personally still not interested in owning one anytime soon, but I love seeing them on the road though! Maybe if I moved to a location where I needed AWD, they would be high on my list for sure.

Strangely:
In the United Kingdom, I heard that the perception of Audi and their drivers is that the people who drive Audis are snobs and arrogant bastards.

That and I remember when Jeremy Clarkson said "Audi following distance" (which is the perception and generalization that Aud drivers LOVE TO TAILGATE )

With that said though:
Audi does make awesome vehicles. No question.

For instance, it looks like Audi is working on an Audi RS6 Avant Plus with MORE THAN 600 HP

I have always liked Audi's ( A4's A8's and all the S's). But once they came out with the "5" Coupe though, it re-ignited my love for them. However, i'm the "no car payment" type of guy. So maybe i will cop one in about 5 years on craigslist with 200,000 miles on it. Until then, they are fun to look at.

Mike timely bump I agree now more than I even did 3 years ago that Audi is getting it done and in fact has stepped up their game nicely.
