The BS was mentioned in an article before, but it's just that. There was a suggestion of a compact X-over SUV smaller than the RX, but recently Lexus N.America already expressed disinterest with a new model going downmarket like some of the other luxury brands, but such a model for Lexus could work very well for Europe & other parts of the world . . . anyway, they should think of a better name if they are to make such a model.

If the Lexus RX keeps getting larger and larger (e.g., RX330 is longer than the RX300 and the next RX may mimic the 2008 Highlander in being even longer and having seating for 8), there will indeed be a need for a smaller Lexus SUV than the RX; maybe somewhere in size between the 2007 Honda CR-V and the RX300.

Just like the Lexus cute ute that they addressed in an interview last week, this should be something for the Euro market only.

The BS previously rumored was supposed to be a small IS hatchback competing with the likes of the 1-series and the A3, not with roadsters like the Z4 and SLK.

I do hope Lexus can do a roadster, and then a sports hatch for the European market.

I think they should call it the Lexus CS 250.

Not too bad, but leave them for the European/Asian markets . . .

Toyota does not want Lexus and Toyota to compete is the same segments too much. Toyota offers many subcompacts in Europe. While a BS Lexus makes sense since BMW, Audi, Benz have them, I think it is best to avoid such a unluxurious market.

Lexus has just stated they don't see much in the sub luxury cute-ute market, citing slow X3 and RDX sales.
